Quote of the day

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

Just got back from a food and wine tasting at the beach with Larissa and her two funky neighbours. It was hard to find veggo options but there were all sorts of exotic dishes featuring rabbit, lamb and venison.

After sampling a least one of each, Larissa was just finishing off her last delicacy when she casually announced, “I think I’ve eaten an entire petting zoo.”

Amanda has a blog!

I would be a very happy woman if all my friends and family had blogs. Which is why I’m thrilled that Amanda has started one: Six Cats in the Yard!

An Off Button

Charles spent the entire pubic holiday this Friday fixing the TV system he built. Until now, it has taken no less than 6 steps to turn it on and the following instructions to turn it off:

Ctrl + Alt + F1
“root” + Enter
“G%!!tr*f” + Enter
“halt” + Enter

After almost a year of this, why did he choose now to fix it now, you ask?

Impending baby? Nope.

Dad’s upcoming visit? Nope.

But it may perhaps be a slight coincidence that the Rugby World Cup started on Saturday.

I stopped by Charles office again the other day and saw that he had a little addition since last time:

Still no picture of me though. I do believe I’ve been officially bumped to third.

Bush has arrived

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

It’s APEC week here in Sydney with 19 world leaders arriving and closing down the entire downtown area with a 5km wall of fencing to keep scary people out. Not to mention the shoppers.

Bush flew in last night with 3 jumbo jets, 700 people and 20 cars (including his one bullet-proof limo).

That can’t be all for safety.

And just think of all the carbon off-setting that will take.

sigh.
