…Just had a run.
Feel so much better.
Our new towls are so soft.
Why don’t I do this more often?

Saturday, April 29th, 2006Sock thoughts
Saturday, April 29th, 2006I used to have several styles and colours of socks. I used to match my socks to my outfit. I used to lose one of the pair and keep the remaining partner tucked in the back of the drawer for years just in case the first returned one day.
No more.
I have a new sock strategy these days and I’ve recruited Charles to my cult:
Last week we purchased 16 pairs of the exact same socks.
16 pairs of black cotton knee-highs.
For I have realized that there are not hundreds of categories of socks as I once thought. The old class distinctions of the past -argyle, tube, dress – these labels are no longer important.
There is only sock, shoe and foot.
Now any of our 32 individual socks can be worn with any of the others -no longer bound to their original life partner.
Imagine their delight. The thrill of possibility each day: worn by either Charles or myself; on the left or the right; to the pub or the Opera house.
And now, the final step in my vision of sock perfection: to convince Charles to let go of the nine or ten odd singles in the back of his drawer that have been there since long before we first met.
Grumpy
Saturday, April 29th, 2006I’m grumpy today.
Somewhere in the middle of last week, it turned fall. And so I’ve lost my bragging rights- they’ve transferred across the sea to my friends and family who are waking each morning to the new sun of spring.
I have no reason at all to be grumpy. Work is good and we spent the morning having a great coffee at 10 Buck Ally, poked around looking at rentals in Balmain just for fun and then met up with Michael, Nicole and the twins for lunch.
A lovely day. No reason to be grumpy.
Tonight we drive up to the Blue Mountains to visit Amber and co. (otherwise known as subscriber #2). Should be fun.
And yet.
Work has been a bit busy again so I didn’t work out this week. It also started early each morning so I skipped writing as well. Since we were busy, we ate out most nights and I ended up eating not as healthy as I could. And I can already tell that I’m losing my fitness. Can feel my belly start to sit there on it’s own again. Not as big as before but going in the wrong direction.
Ok, so maybe that’s why I’m grumpy.
Think I’ll go for a run.
I love strategy
Friday, April 28th, 2006Naming rights
Thursday, April 27th, 2006Well-known authors are now sell naming rights to characters in their books. In 2005, in a fundraiser for nonprofit First Amendment Project, 19 authors – including Stephen King and John Grisham – offered up naming opportunities. Readers paid $2,250-$25,100 to be immortalized in new novels. (Wall Street Journal | 3.16.06)
I’ve decided to do the same.
The first person to send in your name, the name of your first pet and your favourite colour will be the topic of your very own blog entry.
